REGISTER TODAY FOR NEXT WEEK'S MCC BREAKFAST MEETING - Tomorrow's Schools: Building the Future with Strength

March 21 Breakfast Meeting:Tomorrow's Schools - Building the Future with Strength Are you interested in learning more about the use of ICF technology for school buildings?  If so, you should attend next week's MCC Breakfast Meeting on March 21 in Roseville, MN. Tomorrow's Schools - Building the Future with Strength (A Case Study of the Menahga School Addition from the School District, Architect and Contractor) will feature Kevin Wellen (Superintendent at Menahga Public Schools), Steve Skoblik, AIA (Foss Architecture & Interiors) and Chad Regnier (Concrete, Inc.)

Construction is currently underway for the 85,000 sf addition to the Menahga School in Menahga, MN. Scheduled to open for the 2019-20 school season, this building is utilizing Insulated Concrete Forms (ICF) for the exterior wall system. Participants will learn why ICF’s were chosen, how the building was designed and the methods of construction.  Kevin Wellen, Superintendent at Menahga Public Schools, “entered the project skeptical of a product he had never seen above ground and is now so pleased with the final product he has recommended the system to other school superintendents.”

By the end of the presentation, attendees will be able to identify the inherent benefits of insulated concrete forms - including resiliency, energy efficiency, safety, speed of construction, and durability.  Participants will understand why the architect chose insulated concrete forms and how he was able to design the new school addition with them.

Continuing Education Credits:
Attendees will receive a certificate of attendance for one professional development hour at the conclusion of the event.  This presentation has been approved for one AIA LU/HSW.
