Compliance or from the heart?
What motivates our people to work safe? Is it because someone is watching? Is it they fear they may get fussed at or sent home? Or is it because they believe it is the right thing to do? If it is for any of the first reasons, then we still need to work on our culture. A company can never have a truly effective safety program if they are only "preaching rules". The CEO's Corner
One thing that often goes unnoticed with a well-run safety program is recruitment and retention. Young workers are better educated and more concerned with safety than those of the past. This is a good trend in society and it makes a commitment to a culture of safety all the more important. We find a safe jobsite is critically important to the next generation of masons.
