MCAA’s Silica Train-the-Trainer Course

The MCAA’s Silica Train-the-Trainer Course took place in Minneapolis this August. Local contractors who had not yet completed their silica training took advantage of the six-hour program offered by our national association. MCAA has been watching out for mason contractors’ interests for many years as the new OSHA silica rules were coming down the pipe. Through this MCAA course, we’ve been able to make certain we take steps to protect our employees and companies’ health as we adjust and react to all aspects of how such regulations affect our businesses.

The MCAA’s Silica Train-the-Trainer Course trains a key employee to train other employees (as required by the new rule) to be a competent person with regard to the written exposure plan. It has been developed by the MCAA in conjunction with a law firm that is very familiar with the new silica rule and specializes in OSHA compliance.
