Insurance For Concrete Construction Less Expensive Than Wood Frames

Studies have shown that costs for builder’s risk and insurance policies are more expensive for wood-frame construction than for those using concrete. In many cases these cost increases can be double for the wood frame construction. Two recent studies (here and here) demonstrate these increased costs. It is noted that even when a wood-frame commercial property has sprinklers, the combustibility of wood continues to be a concern for insurers.
