Effective Health and Safety Practices

CEO Corner

It’s important, every now and then, to stop and look at our systems we have in place for managing health and safety in our workplace, and consider how we might improve them to create a safer, happier and more productive environment for our workers to come to every day.

  1. Demonstrate that our company is addressing its health and safety obligations.
  2. Show that our company is committed to working within a set of health and safety principles.
  3. Clarify functions and responsibilities in our company.
  4. Ensure that safe systems of work are recorded, communicated to workers and implemented in a consistent way throughout our company.
  5. Guide the future actions of workers in a formal way.
  6. Help our company to manage staff more effectively by defining acceptable and unacceptable behavior in the workplace.
  7. Save time by allowing health and safety matters to be handled quickly through an existing procedure, rather than staff dealing with problems as they occur or responding differently each time the same issues arise.

Effective health and safety practices help to protect our workers from injury. This may mean we are more likely to retain skilled and loyal employees by preventing accidents and incidents.
