Description

Concrete Maturity is a commonly used (and sometimes misused) method to estimate the in-place compressive strength of newly placed concrete elements. This presentation will give a brief overview of the history and theory behind concrete maturity, the current standard for use (ASTM C1074), and current maturity equipment available in the industry. The presentation will focus on real-world examples where maturity was used including possible advantages and disadvantages.  Nick Hansen, Senior Scientist with Braun Intertec, is the presenter.
