Experience:  I graduated with a master’s degree in Public Administration from Minnesota State University at Mankato in 1992.  I spent the first 20 years of my career as a city manager in various developing suburbs.  I spent 11 years in residential development as a VP Project Manager, and the past five years as the President of American Artstone Company.

Notable projects worked on:

U of M Northrop Auditorium Renovation; Gunderson Hospital, La Crosse, WI; Folkstone at the Promenade, Wayzata, MN; U of M NHCC Bio Science; 7 Vines Vineyard, Dellwood, MN, Mayowood Mansion Renovation, Rochester, MN; Franklin Avenue Bridge Restoration; Good Samaritan Ryan and Jerstad Additions, Sioux Falls, SD; CF Industries North, Sioux City, IA

Project you are most proud of: Lyndale Avenue Bridge.  Extremely difficult project from an engineering and manufacturing perspective.

Other industry related memberships:  Cast Stone Institute, various state AIA, Masonry Institute of Iowa.

Out of work interests/hobbies/family: Golf, spending time at my cabin, college football, grandchildren!

How being a member of MC&MCA has helped you professional and personally? I have developed many new personal relationships and gained a better understanding of the many issues facing contractors.  It has also provided the opportunity to give back to the industry.
